Big shout out to Aimee Hardenbergh at True Wedding Events for making all the details flow so elegantly for Amy and Paul’s Wedding! Amy and her mom and a few of her bridesmaids all made paper cranes — 1,000 of them! It wasn’t easy, but Aimee was able to incorporate every single one of those cranes into Amy’s wedding! And it looked beautiful! Aimee is truly a stylist and you can see the effects in how everything was arranged and how smoothly the day went for Amy and Paul. We also love how Aimee made sure of even the smallest of details — such as the candy bar signs being in Japanese — all the details were so well thought out. Amy and Paul were so happy with the job that Aimee did, she was given a standing ovation at the wedding!
Amy and Paul are such a sweet couple and we knew it when we first heard their engagement story. Paul was very busy so Amy and him were not able to celebrate Valentine’s Day until the Saturday after. Their favorite restaurant is McCormick and Schmick’s at the National Harbor — so they decided to go there. Amy thinking nothing of it, wasn’t surprised when Paul asked her to go for a walk with him after dinner.
As they were walking by the water, at the Poseidon statue, Paul took out the ring box. Before he could say anything, Amy gave him a huge hug. Paul asked, “so that’s a yes?”. And Amy said, “of course!”.
It wasn’t until after they were walking away that Amy realized Paul had never actually asked her to marry him. So Amy asked Paul to ask her … just to make it official ; )
These two are so awesome! We loved photographing them and even more so, being able to photograph their big day! We hope you all enjoy the images!
